One Week From Today

We leave a week from today...Oh my!!!!! I have so much to do and little time to complete it all. I was told today from my work family that I was nesting. I have been cleaning like crazy, trying to organize and get rid of stuff we just do not need. Lamar and I have managed to occupy our entire house with stuff, yes stuff!!! Every closet, every nook and cranny, every drawer is full. But, with a little "nesting" I have been doing, I think I can move a baby in and have room for some stuff for him!! YEAH!!!!!

Showers of Gifts

Wow, what love we have from all our family and friends. Lamar and I are so blessed. Flowers were sent to work with a big baloon saying IT'S A BOY from my wonderful work family which completely surprised me. Lamar's work friends (County Administrators) had a surprise shower today for him and really got him good. I am sure he was all smiles. Both our families have bought so much for us already and friends have helped me paint, plan my nursery, and keep my sanity as much as possible. We finally have the day bed and crib up!!!! Yeah, that was a big step to getting the nursery going and I feel good about the room.
Jackson is going to have so many people that love him and can not wait to meet him. Soon...we will have our son!

Schedule for trip

This is a sample schedule. I believe my training of middle school principal will help us... "improvise and adjust." We may get Jackson Than on Monday the 9th or Tuesday the 10th. We will see him on Monday, but may not take him until Tuesday...I think it is an adoption layaway program.

Saturday, Feb. 7: Arrive Saigon (HCMC)
Sunday, Feb 8: Fly to Da Nang
Monday, Feb 9: Sign G & R; fly back to HCMC
Tuesday, Feb 10: Apply for children's passports and visa medical
Thursday, Feb 12: Receive passports and medical result
Friday, Feb 13: Flight to Hanoi
Monday, Feb 16 or 17: Visa Interview
Thursday, Feb 19: Leave Hanoi around midnight

Travel Plans for Now

Lamar, Elaine, Lynne will be leaving on February 6th early in the morning. We are flying from Chattanooga to Atlanta to Seoul to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). I am not reading any of my Sports Illustrateds until the 15+ hour flight to Seoul. Below is our flight schedule...we will post the daily schedule soon. Thanks for the thought and prayers.

Names

Names, names, how important the name is. Been asked a hundred times on this, and Lamar and I are still soul searching for the best name. I will let you know we are leaning toward Jackson and using one of his names as the middle name. He kinda looks like a Jack, my maiden name!!!!What do you think???? The name is not after the famous singer Jackson Browne, but I do like his songs!!

Approval

The long wait for the approval has come. We received the approval to adopt our son on New Years Eve day. What a way to start the new year off, getting ready to become a parent. WOW, it is getting close. We still do not have the travel dates from Vietnam, which is when we will actually fly there and get the baby the day after we arrive, but hopefully, it will be soon. I will let you know as soon as we get any information. Thanks again for the constant love and prayers for us on this new adventure and life changing time for us!!!!!!
