Monday, February 9--Adoption Day by Lamar

3 Quotes from yesterday
"I dropped you off at the airport with 3 women (Elaine, Lynne and Cathy) Bivens and 1 man (me), I picked up 3 women and 3 men (add Jackson and Matthew Bivens)"--Toan, our translator

"He is very lucky...and so are you"--French shop owner in Hoi An

"Always let him know that he is from Vietnam"--Magistrate official at ceremony

Monday was a beautiful day for us. We started the day off by going to the orphanage to pick up Jackson. We had a nice light blue RR outfit for him to wear at the G & R ceremony. The nannies spent there last time with him. It was very sad for them...I know that they loved him very much. The ceremony was short and sweet. Two magistrate representative gave a brief speech and declared the adoption official. We celebrated with one another by eating Mandarin oranges and bottle water. Then there were several pictures made by the statue of Ho Chi Minh.
'
Jackson was very quiet until 12:05. I made the statement that "he came alive at 12:05. " We had a great day in Hoi An, a very old historical touristy village that is located south of Danang. The locals were so nice to us and they loved holding Jackson Than. They would ask where he was from, how old he was, how much he weighed, and how much US dollars. I will write more about Hoi An later. In a nutshell, it was more than I could have ever expected and truthfully, I wish that the day did not have to end!
