Thursday-Final day in Saigon by Lamar

Jackson slept through the night last night. He was tired from the trip to the Mekong Delta and all the hoopla! The first thing this morning, I went with Madame Chau's daugther, Diep (pronounced Deep), to the immigration office. I must be honest that I teared up when she handed me his passport and there was his picture. A little trivia, Vietnam's passports have green covers. The 4 of us took out on a shopping adventure like no other. Our travels took us to sports row, the HCMC post office, 500 or more shops, the Rex Hotel ( many journalists in the Vietnam War stayed here... Anderson Cooper eat your heart out ), the Ben Than market (bickering is allowed), and to Al Fresco's, an Australian based restaraunt. We had smoothies and milkshakes...all is well. We were loaded down after the day's work. Jackson was a trooper and gave his 2 cents worth when needed.

Tonight, he and I watched out our 5th floor window and watched traffic. In a 1 minute time span, we counted 1000 motorscooters (125cc or less), 200 taxies, 8 cars, 25 bicycles, no oxes or asses.

We appreciate all the prayers. We love reading the comments to the blog... so thanks for that. God Bless!

The journey you will take as Jackson's parents will be the most amazing experience of your life.
Blessings to each of you.

I think Shirley is writing math problems that relate to your trip and will be using them in her class.
